Design and development of an online store for rentals on Shopify
Louis Vuitton description
the customer

The radical alternative to traditional ownership in the world of cycling.

Instead of selling bicycles, Just Vélo offers temporary rentals of high-end models. A flexible, innovative, premium model aligned with a new, smarter way of consuming: no absurd long-term contracts, no large investments, and no unnecessary accumulation.
the challenge
The challenge was not just to build an online store. It was to create a platform capable of explaining an unusual business model in the sector, within 30 days, and deliver it ready to launch on the market before Christmas:
The platform must include:
Rental for two-month cycles (initially).
High-end bicycle catalog.
Installment payment system.
Complete the order with accessories through cross-selling.
Size guides.
Clear differentiation between e-bikes and traditional bicycles.
You can choose the time of year that suits you best.
Furthermore, the message had to be crystal clear from the outset: this is not a store where you can buy things. It is a platform for enjoyment.

Our
challenge was to translate this disruptive positioning into a clear, understandable, conversion-oriented digital experience.
Louis Vuitton description

Outstanding work despite the deadlines. The team grasped the essence of JustVélo right from the start, and the final result reflects great technical and aesthetic consistency—simply spot on. We are very satisfied with the process and the result.

JUSTVÉLO - CEO
solution developed
We started from the strategic basis: understanding the business model and cycle system.

We defined an optimized catalog architecture, structuring the collections to correctly separate e-bikes and conventional bicycles without creating friction, as well as designing the architecture of filters, sizes, and categories

We designed a clear and engaging user experience, where the biggest strategic challenge was defining how to communicate the concept of "temporary use vs. ownership." We developed custom templates based on the Edge theme and structured the content to educate the user in seconds.

In continuous co-creation with the JustVélo team and in a record time of 4 weeks, we built a visually striking, modern, robust, fast, and conversion-focused platform.
UI/UX Design
The key was clarity. If the user doesn't understand the model in less than 10 seconds, they leave.

That's why in this phase, our focus was on developing:
Direct messages on Home explaining the 2-month rental model.
A bold visual identity that reflects the brand's punk and rebellious spirit.
Strong typographic hierarchy to reinforce the message "Don't buy. Enjoy."
Design optimized for product conversion: clear size selection, explanation of cycles, and visible conditions.
Strategic alignment: Creation of Product Canvas, Brand Strategy Brief (BSB), and validation of information architecture prior to development.
The result is a seamless, frictionless experience that aligns with JustVélo's brand positioning.
Development and integrations
The platform was developed on Shopify, adapting the theme to support:
Sizing logic based on customer height, including detailed size guides designed for each bike model.
SEO-oriented strategic content for each collection (metadata, descriptions, sitemap configuration, and robots.txt).
System prepared to scale catalog without breaking structure, defining a robust data model and bulk import via CSV.
Advanced filtering system: Configuration of a customized filtering and sorting system in the collections, allowing users to refine their search by size, discipline, e-bike, price, brand, and height.
Installment payments: Integration of the Stoq app to allow users to split payments into two installments, in addition to setting up Shopify Payments (Apple Pay and Google Pay).
Up-selling accessories: Installation and customization of the Sellease app to include extras in the reservation (add helmet, top pedals, shoes, etc. along with the bike).
Automation with Shopify Flow: Setting up key flows to recover conversions (abandoned cart), request post-booking reviews (integrated with the Judge.me app), etc.
Customized UI layout: Transfer the Figma design to templates for Home, Product, Categories, FAQ, My Account, and an optimized drop-down cart using the Edge theme.
Analytical tracking and GDPR: Implementation of GTM, GA4, Pixels (Meta, Google Ads), and strict cookie configuration (GDPR) with Consentmo and Google Consent Mode V2.
Impact
JustVélo is not just another bike shop. It is an innovative approach to democratizing premium cycling.

As part of its real-world approach to the market during its first few months, the brand demonstrated its ability to adapt. The initial two-month closed-cycle model evolved into total flexibility: today, users can rent a bike for 30 days, extend the experience up to six months, or cancel at any time without any strings attached.
The digital platform:
Clearly explain the bike rental model and its new flexibility.
Reduces friction in the product selection process.
Supports installment payments and dynamic subscription management.
Reinforces the brand's rebellious positioning.
A project where strategy, business model, and technology align to break an established norm in the sector and pivot with agility in response to real market demand.
