The ¡HOLA! brand is a nexus of union between generations that seek information on current news and trends, and they do so through the magazine in print, the web, digital editions, or mobile applications or social networks.

When the CIO of the HOLA! group, a leading brand in the female universe, calls you because a former client of ours has recommended us, it generates a mixture of feelings between great excitement and maximum responsibility in equal parts, for the challenge that was suddenly presented to us.
What began as a small collaboration in 2019, became a close long-term relationship where more than 10 people from our design and technology team continue to work, in one way or another, in the implementation of different projects of HOLA Group at the international level.

01. HOLA Kitchen (2019-2020)
From all the documentation and the new UI/UX, our work on the Hola Cocina portal included, mainly:
Study of all the technical documentation of the project and functional specification (Wiki + JIRA).
Setup and maintenance of development environments.
Ongoing work with the UI/UX, Backend and PO/PM Design team.
Implementation of the new Front: Twig, Sass and JS.
Full responsive web design adaptation.
Perform the processing, mapping and serialization of certain data. For content creation, Swing is used as CMS, connected via API with the Backend (Symfony).
Development of new functionalities, modules and adaptations according to new specific requirements requested by the team of content editors/creators.
Continuous integration and deployments in the new CMS (Swing and part in ED2).
Support to the QA and Testing team.
02. H! plus (2020-2022)
Hola Plus!, a 2020-22 project where the goal is that its readers can enjoy, for a subscription fee, all the exclusive content and the digital version of its main publications (¡HOLA!, Hello!, Fashion, Living...), on any device.
We participated in the development, evolution and maintenance of the Back and Front of the project, mainly composed of 3 different but interconnected web applications.
User area (AU): where the user contracts plans and also has a panel where he/she can access to manage his/her data, preferences (newsletters and communications) and subscriptions (type, payment methods, invoicing, etc).
Management panel for administrators, AU Admin: where you can configure all the options available in the User Area.
Hola Plus Admin Panel: for the management of subscriptions by administrators (payments, renewals, products, orders, connection with payment gateways, etc).
Press Reader: APIs system to manage and connect with the system that provides digitized versions of publications to users, depending on the subscription plan.
Main technologies involved: Twig, Sass, JS, Docker, Symfony, MySQL, Sylius, Stripe, GIT, JIRA, Mailchimp, SailThru, Aquafadas and PressR.
Redis and CDN systems to improve performance and high availability in the cloud (AWS).
Continuous integration and deployments in the new CMS (Swing). Security with Login Radius and JWT, Access with OAuth2, Functional and unit tests with PHPUnit.
HELLO! and HELLO! (2020-2022)
The client needed a new, more secure, robust, better performing and scalable solution to support +74 million visits/month and +30 million unique users/month. To do so, the client relies on us to participate in the development of part of the new Frontend of the web portals ¡HOLA! and HELLO!

04. H! India (2021-2022)
Project in 2021-22 where we led the Frontend implementation of the new Hello Magazine web portal for India. Our work included mainly:
Leading the Front remote team (UK).

5. Group ¡HOLA!
At the end of 2021 we were commissioned to redesign the HOLA Group's corporate website, with the following objectives:
Analysis and technical audit to find points of improvement from a performance, optimization and UX point of view.
To turn it into a secure, stable, flexible and scalable platform to accompany the growth of the business in its customer acquisition and loyalty (brands).
We rebuilt the entire website with a new stack of tools in Wordpress, to solve the structural problems of the Back and Front.
We redesigned and created a new content and data structure in the Backend to optimize and facilitate the autonomous management of the administration panel, decoupling the data from the design layer.
We optimize graphic resources and content presentation.
We migrated the new web application to a managed Cloud service on AWS.
Redis and CDN systems to improve performance and high availability in the cloud (AWS).
