Burby is a recently created startup
Its mission is to connect athletes so that they can buy and sell their used sports equipment, thus promoting responsible consumption among the sports community.
the challenge
The first contact with the Burby team was:
"Athletes deserve a better way to buy and sell second-hand sports equipment on the internet, and we thought of creating a platform. We see a need in the market for a better categorized Wallapop, which is not a messy drawer and difficult to find products. Like Vinted, but for athletes instead of fashion. Where do we start? Are you interested in the project?"
We loved the challenge and we got down to work. We tell you about it and show it in detail below.

UNDERSTANDING AND DEFINITION
The client had the following needs:
Tailor-made creation, from the ideation phase, of a marketplace for the purchase and sale of second-hand sports equipment.
Ideation and definition of the digital product both at technical (technologies involved) and functional level (how it will work in detail to meet the customer's needs).
Customer experience (UX) definition and design process, based on qualitative market research and benchmarking with other existing platforms (generalist or other verticals).
Design of the user interface (UI) of each screen of the product, from the first sketches to high fidelity mockups, including the design system.
Design and implementation of data models and business logic.
Custom development of the Frontend and Backend of the web-app application working with Sharetribe Flex.

The result has been a robust, secure, flexible, scalable and 100% self-manageable platform, which allows us to accompany the growth of the marketplace and its needs up to tens of thousands of users.

We use Sharetribe Flex, the most advanced platform for marketplace development (Headless technology).
Complete Frontend implementation (React, Redux) hosted on Heroku.
Custom development of all Backend logic and automations based on API Rest to adapt it to the particular business logic.
PWA (Progressive Web App): functionality that offers the capabilities of a native mobile application, and incorporates a direct access icon on your smartphone or tablet without the need to be installed.
Integrations with external services: Mapbox GL, Heroku, Login RRSS and Beseif (online payments and logistics).
Visual identity and narrative.
Thanks to the creative work of the founding team, we received the first concepts of the visual identity and narrative of the Burby brand. This made it much easier for us to work on our strategic processes of Design and Creation of all the visual and narrative resources needed for the digital product.
